A boost for jobs in Ireland…
Lidl have announced that they will hire 600 extra workers in Ireland over the next two years.
The German discount supermarket chain is looking to expand its operations in Ireland with head office jobs and new positions for store workers and managers becoming available.
The €110 million investment will mean up to 50 new stores being opened across Ireland in the coming years, with about 10 expected to be built in the next two years.
Lidl currently employs 4,000 people in Ireland and has 146 stores across the country.
Recruitment has already begun for roles like store operations, warehousing and distribution as well as positions in the head office.
Lidl currently holds about a 12% market share of the Irish grocery sector with 1.5 million customers using the store every week.
