In the last week of April…
Temperatures are set to be “several degrees below normal” this week as a blast of Arctic air is set to make its presence felt in Ireland and the UK.
Sleet and snow has been forecast to arrive in the UK and there is a chance of it hitting mountain tops in Ireland towards the end of what is set to be a week of unseasonably cold weather.
Today and tonight will remain mostly dry with outbreaks of scattered showers, but after a decent start to Tuesday morning, the weather is set to take a turn with rain and hail showers widespread throughout Wednesday and a chance of isolated thunderstorms too.
Heavy rain and hail showers will again affect most of the country by Friday morning, while snow in elevated areas and mountain tops is also a possibility.
The Bank Holiday weekend isn’t supposed to be much better, so we wouldn’t be getting too enthusiastic about any outdoor activities you might have planned.
