It’s all change for secondary school students.
The Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan confirmed a major overhaul of the CAO points system today.
From 2017 onwards, Leaving Cert students will be able to achieve eight different grades rather than the current 14.
The new grades are H1-H8 for Higher Level and O1-O2 for Ordinary Level.
Here are percentages you need to get the grade you want.
The points system has been changed to reduce the number of students who get the exact same points score.
The new system are more uneven to reduce the use of random selection in the allocation of third level places.
