Here’s the weather forecast for this weekend

Conor Heneghan

It’s going to start feeling more like winter again.

After a week in which temperatures were positively balmy for this time of year in Ireland, the weekend will revert to more customary conditions for the middle of December.

According to Met Éireann, Friday will once again be mild with temperatures reaching as high as 14 degrees during the day, although loitering outdoors won’t be too pleasant due to scattered outbreaks of rain and blustery winds.

Clearer and cooler weather will start to take hold when the wind begins to settle down on Friday evening, but temperatures won’t stray too far below 5 degrees at night.

In more positive news, Saturday is set to be dry and bright for the most part, with maximum temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees and only the odd shower here and there.

It’ll start to get colder on Saturday night, however, with temperatures set to drop close to freezing, particularly in Leinster and Munster.

Sunday is looking quite decent too and is forecast to be dry and bright like Saturday, with frost likely to appear in the eastern half of the country as conditions become cooler approaching Sunday night.
