Excuse us, there’s something in our eye. Those damn onions!
When we were little kids, we all wanted to be professional sportsmen and follow in the footsteps of our heroes whether it was soccer, rugby or whatever sport they played.
How many of us, however, cared so much for our heroes that we were willing to offer up some of our communion money to go towards a fund to help players recover from injuries suffered on the field of play?
That’s what one very admirable young Leinster fan did recently when sending in a letter to the Irish Rugby Union Players’ Association (IRUPA) offering some of money he recently received from his communion to help out those wounded on the field of play.
In fairness, kids these days could almost afford to get on the property ladder with the amount of money they get for their communion but it’s still a very nice gesture all the same.

What a little legend.
We think there’s something in our eye, stop cutting those damn onions!
