Don’t just tweet about it; show your support this Sunday.

A number of vigils will be held around the country this coming Sunday to show support for the victims of the Charlie Hebdo massacre and their families.

Irish people have been urged to attend any vigil they can and also to bring panels, flowers, pencils and papers along with them.

You can find out more about each event and show your support on Facebook by clicking the relevant links below…

Dublin: When – Sunday January 11, 12pm. Where – Spire of Dublin

“In order to show our mourning and our support for freedom, let’s walk peacefully in Dublin.”

Cork: When – Sunday January 11, 12pm-2pm. Where – Daunt Square

“To show our support to press freedom and to the families and those close to the victims, let’s meet for a candlelight silent vigil in Cork.

“Please bring your own posters/banners/candles (we’ll provide a bit of both on the day), just keep in mind that blasphemy is an offence in Ireland. Also, not sure it would be the best time to bring politics and/or religion to the equation on the day. See you then!”

Galway: When – Sunday January 11, 12pm. Where – Spanish Arch

“To support the victims, families, journalisms, cartoonists, and press freedom, and in memory of those who lost their lives, we’re meeting in silence in Spanish Arch from 12pm, Sunday 11th. Bring panels, flowers, pencils, papers…

“Everyone is welcome to join peacefully.”
