Caught in Tipperary only last week.
Nobody, and we mean nobody, from JOE will be frequenting Tipperary rivers any time soon.
Especially as the Irish Sun reports that the biggest rat ever seen in Ireland was discovered last week in one.
Measuring over three feet long, it is not your normal everyday rat. It’s a coypu South American swamp rat and it’s suspected that it may have been the pet of a private collector.
The authorities have nicknamed him Swampy because he is a swamp rat. It has nothing to do with his loose-fitting trousers.
He is now residing in the Wildlife Unit at the Kildare Animal Foundation.
They are trying to find him a home. Honestly. Is there anyone out there really interested in taking a three foot rat into their home as a pet?
If so, get in touch with the Kildare Animal Foundation and never, ever, ever call any of us here in JOE. Ever.
