Horrific news from Turkey.
A 64-year-old man is said to have been found dead at an apartment in the Bodrum resort in the Aegean province of Mugla according to reports from local media.
A bloodied knife was reportedly found outside the apartment by his neighbours who alerted the police.
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that they’re providing consular assistance to the family of an Irish citizen who died in Turkey.
According to the Hurriyet Daily News, video footage obtained from nearby security cameras showed two men leaving the building, neighbours did not recognise the men.
A autopsy revealed that there was a struggle prior to the man’s death. An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
Bodrum is a popular tourist destination among Irish people and attracts visitors from all over the world.

The victim has been named as Mr John Edward Donnelly.
The Dublin retiree was involved heavily in public theatre and according to reports he was stabbed once in the back in a holiday apartment in the resort.
