Katie Taylor’s father, Peter Taylor, is one of the two men injured following the shooting in Bray

A 50-year-old man has died during the incident.

RTÉ have reported that Katie Taylor’s father, Pete Taylor, is one of the two men that has been taken to hospital following the shooting incident that occurred at Bray Boxing Club.

Earlier this morning, police confirmed that a 50-year-old man has died and that two other men, aged 35 and 57, were injured in the incident.

The gunman entered the boxing club just before 7am and fired a number of shots.

The body of the deceased remains at the scene pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and a technical examination of the area is being carried out by Garda Crime Scene Examiners.

Following examination of CCTV in the area, the Gardaí are now appealing for information regarding the silver coloured Volkswagen Caddy with Northern Irish plates that fled the scene.

Bray Boxing Club is where Ireland’s Olympic, European and World champion Katie Taylor has previously trained.
