Up to 500 new jobs could be on their way to Kildare as the Kildare Village Shopping Outlet has been given permission for a €50m expansion.
An Bord Pleanála granted permission for the new expansion earlier today and construction is expected to get underway as soon as November.
According to Newstalk, Kildare County Council approved the project, which will see the centre being extend by 8,000 square metres – almost double it’s current size.
The expansion is expected to create 120 construction jobs, 190 part-time jobs and 190 full-time positions.
Kildare Village’s reasoning for the expansion was that it needed to expand in order to attract a greater number of premium brands with the hopes that this will in turn bring in more tourists.
Once the Calvin Klein jocks stay cheap, we’ll be happy…
