An Aer Lingus flight has landed safely in Shannon Airport after it declared an emergency during flight.
The Los Angeles bound flight left Dublin on Thursday afternoon before the crew reported a problem with the engine and diverted to land in Shannon Airport.
The Aer Lingus flight EI145 departed Dublin today at 3.39pm en route to Los Angeles with 267 passengers and 11 crew on board.
According to Aer Lingus, the aircraft encountered a technical fault and was diverted to Shannon with emergency services in attendance as a precaution.
The airline have vowed that all passengers will be transferred to Los Angeles on the next available flight.
