Could have fooled us…
July was the warmest month recorded since records began back in the 1800’s according to the National Centers for Environmental Information.
July averaged sea and land surface temperatures of 16.6 C across the planet that’s 0.08 degrees higher than the previous record, set in July 1998.
Five of the first seven months of 2015 have set new heat records compared to other years keeping 2015 on track to become the hottest year ever, beating 2014 to the gong.
For those people in the world who claim global warming is a myth, these figures would tend to suggest otherwise.
While it may have been the warmest, we didn’t see much sun here as it seemed to be raining most of the time as we seem to have skipped our summer and gone straight to drizzly Autumn.
The centre’s monthly analysis showed Austria had its warmest July since reliable records began, any chance they would mind sharing some of that weather over here with us?
Hat-tip to BBC.
