Lots of people are unhappy that Enda Kenny is the Grand Marshal of this St Patrick’s Day parade

An Taoiseach isn't the most popular man in Atlanta

An Taoiseach isn’t the most popular man in Atlanta.

Irish people are well accustomed to the duties of the Taoiseach during St Patrick’s Day celebration, as they’re usually in The White House handing over a symbolic bowl of shamrocks to the US President in a bid to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.

There’s no doubting that American business and companies play a huge role in the domestic Irish economy but there are certain people who feel that leading politicians and TDs should remain in Ireland over this festive period.

Enda Kenny will continue this trend in the next few days as he’s over in the US having been chosen as the Grand Marshal for the St Patrick’s Day parade in Atalanta, Georgia.

It seems that the Fine Gael leader’s presence has incited some displeasure and anger from Irish people that are living abroad as seen by these comments.

You can view the stream of comments for yourself in the above post but here’s just a few brief snippets. It seems that Enda will have a tough crowd in front of him this Saturday.
