Bad news for commuters.
Luas trams will not run be operating in Dublin on Easter Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday after SIPTU have sanctioned a decision to strike. Drivers had already planned industrial action on March 8th and St Patrick’s Day.

Transdev, the Luas operator, has said that this latest decision is a serious escalation of the current dispute in which Luas staff are seeking pay increases of 53% and better working conditions.
“It appears more of an escalation than a willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue. It is also from the Driver grade only and Transdev would like to acknowledge the Revenue Protection Team who have withdrawn their work to rule with immediate effect”, a statement read.
