Luas workers have announced four more days of strike action in April

Colm Boohig

The saga continues.

Luas drivers are set to strike once again, this time for four days in April.

According to RTÉ, Luas workers will go on strike on April 2, 3, 23 and 24.

SIPTU district divisional organiser Owen Reidy has, this afternoon, claimed that Luas workers have no alternative other than to strike again, with Transdev unwilling to engage with the employees demands for a 30% pay increase – down from an initial 53% claim – over the next five years.

Kieran Mulvey, the Workplace Relations Commission director general says that there is still time to avoid an all out strike from Luas services.
