Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident.
A man in his 20s had to be treated in hospital after an assault that occurred in Limerick overnight.
The incident took place in The Square in Abbeyfeale shortly after 1am on Saturday morning.
The man was rushed to University Hospital Kerry to be treated for his injuries.
The Limerick Leader reports that the young man’s injuries, though serious, are not life-threatening.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson told JOE that no arrests have been made yet in relation to the assault.
Investigations into the incident are “ongoing”, the spokesperson stated.
