Man in his 40s dies after two-car crash in Limerick

A man in his 20s was also injured.

A man has died following a two-car crash in Limerick on Thursday (24 March).

The collision occurred at around 10am at the junction of Old Cratloe Road and Woodcockhill Road.

A passenger in his late 40s was fatally injured when the crash occurred.

His body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will be conducted in due course.

The male driver, in his mid-20s, of the same vehicle was also brought to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver, in his late 60s, of the second vehicle was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, and were travelling on the Old Cratloe Road or Woodcockhill Road between 9.30am and 10am are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
