The investigation is ongoing.
An Garda Síochána have confirmed that a man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with an “endangerment and abduction” incident.
At 7.30pm on Monday evening (6 May), Gardaí attached to the K District Community Action Team in Finglas, Co. Dublin attempted to stop a suspicious car, which refused to pull over.
The Gardaí gave chase to the vehicle to Kippure Park, where it was abandoned.
Upon examination by the Gardaí, it was discovered that a 14-year-old male youth was in the boot of the car. The car had more than one occupant at the time of the incident, and Gardaí have now arrested one man in his 20s in connection with the incident.
The man, who has not been named, is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
UPDATE: The man has now been charged with road traffic offences and is to appear in Blanchardstown District Court this morning, 7 May 2019. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to further offences.
