Timmy Hourihane was found unconscious beside his tent in October.
A man in his 20s has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Timmy Hourihane in Cork.
The man is being held at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Hourihane, a homeless chef, was found unconscious next to his tent, which had been set alight, on a green area of the Mardyke in Cork city on 13 October.
He had sustained serious injuries from an assault and was transferred to Cork University Hospital, where he died.
The 53-year-old was one of a number of homeless people living in the area.
