Very sad news.
A man has been killed following a collision between a truck and a car in Limerick.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday (18 March) morning at Killeheen, Rathkeale when an articulated truck and a car collided.
The driver of the truck, a man in his early 30s, and sole occupant of the truck was fatally injured in the collision. His body has been removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will take place in due course.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, and sole occupant was injured during the collision and removed to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
