A 24-year-old man was killed and two other people were taken to hospital.
Gardaí at Ballinhassig, Cork are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Ballyhooleen, Ballinhassig, Cork.
The incident occurred at approximately 1am on Saturday, 28 September.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene as a car and a truck collided at the location.
The 24-year-old male driver of the car (only occupant) was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver and female passenger of the truck were taken to Cork University Hospital with non-serious injuries.
The scene is currently preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the crash site.
The road remains closed and local traffic diversions remain in place.
Gardaí at Bandon are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, particularly any motorists who were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.
