Gardaí are on the lookout for a red Volkswagen Passat.
Gardaí are investigating a hijacking incident in Tipperary.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí has said that the incident occurred in Clonoulty, shortly after 3pm this afternoon (6 March). It is believed that a man wielding a knife threatened the female driver of a red Volkswagen Passat, and instructed her to exit the vehicle.
The man then stole the vehicle.
Gardaí have said they also believe the vehicle was then used in the commission of a second crime, wherein a man robbed a post office in Rossmore at knifepoint, escaping with “a small sum of money.”
An Garda Síochána have warned the public not to approach the car if they see it. They have revealed a partial registration plate for the vehicle (11-D).
Anyone who does see a car matching the description is advised to call 999 or Thurles Garda Station on 0504-25100, or any Garda Station.
No arrests have been made yet in relation to the investigation, and Gardaí have noted that there were no injuries sustained in either incident.
