Man sustains ‘number of stab wounds’ in south Dublin City

The victim’s condition is believed to be stable.

One man has been assaulted grievously in south Dublin city centre following an incident which occurred on Wednesday night.

The incident, which is originally thought to have happened on Clanbrassil Street, is now believed to have taken place on nearby St Vincent Street in the night of 4 July.

Alarm was raised when Gardaí and emergency services were called to an apartment complex on Clanbrassil Street Lower at approximately 10.40pm where a 30-year-old local man was found to have sustained a number of stab wounds.

He was treated by emergency service personnel and removed by ambulance to St James’s Hospital where his condition is understood to be stable.

The scene is currently being examined by local scenes of crime personnel.

No arrests have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing.
