There are now 87 McDonald’s restaurants in Ireland.

A new McDonald’s restaurant has opened in Ballincollig, County Cork, where customers can order their food without queuing.

The new outlet has self order kiosks and Samsung Galaxy Tablets as well as an interior play area, in-keeping with the ‘Spirit of Family’ restaurant theme.

It can accommodate 170 diners at any one time, with a further 40 seats in an outdoor dining area.

McDonald’s Owner Operator, John Blake, commented: “We are delighted to officially open the new Ballincollig restaurant which has created 75 new jobs and I would like to thank the people of Ballincollig and the locality.

“The construction work was carried out by a number of local sub-contractors, supporting 30 additional jobs, and was completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

“We’re especially proud of the strong family focus we have created in the restaurant. I think the installation of tablets are a fantastic addition which will entertain and educate our younger customers in particular.”

McDonald’s Ireland MD Adrian Crean added: “The opening of this new restaurant in Ballincollig highlights our on-going commitment to Ireland, not only with the development and refurbishment of our restaurants but also in our commitment to Irish suppliers.

“We are pleased to deliver 75 new positions with the opening of this restaurant.”
