Met Éireann issue weather warning as temperatures set to plunge in Ireland tonight

Conor Heneghan

Get the heat on…

Met Éireann have issued a status yellow low temperature warning for large parts of Ireland, as temperatures are set to plunge to as low as -6 on Tuesday night.

All of Munster, as well as Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow and Offaly have been served notice of the warning, with minimum air temperatures of -3 or -4 expected in Munster and south Leinster and temperatures as low as -6 possible in rural areas.

The warning is valid from 8pm on Tuesday night to 9am on Wednesday morning and is the latest in a series of weather warnings issued by Met Éireann as the recent cold spell continues to grip the country.

Sounds like a night to keep nice and close to one of these…
