Motorcyclist in his 20s airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in Offaly crash

The collision involved the motorcyclist and a car.

A man has been seriously injured following a road crash that occurred in Offaly on Tuesday (30 August).

The collision occurred at around 3.45pm in Shannonbridge and involved a male motorcyclist in his late 20s and a car.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the man was airlifted to University College Hospital in Galway, where he remains in serious condition.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her late 60s, were uninjured.

Gardaí in Birr are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

They are also urging to road users who were travelling in Shannonbridge between 3pm and 4pm with camera footage, including dashcam footage, to make it available to them.
