A serious car crash on the Drumlish Road outside Longford Town has left one dead and several others injured, according to reports.
RTE Midlands Correspondent Ciaran Mullooly reported on the incident this evening, posted about the crash on his own Twitter. He wrote: “One person has died and a number of others have been injured after a three car crash near the town of Drumlish in county Longford. Gardaí and the emergency services have closed the Longford road into the town and a full investigation is underway.”
No details of the crash victims have been made public as of Thursday evening.

According to AA Roadwatch, the R198 is closed following the crash.
