One new Covid-19 death, 25 new cases confirmed

One person has died in relation to Covid-19 in Ireland, with 25 new cases also confirmed.

Sunday evening’s figures showed the lowest daily death toll since zero deaths were reported two weeks ago.

The death toll in the Republic of Ireland now stands at 1,659.

Meanwhile, there were 25 new confirmed cases of the disease confirmed by the Department of Health.

There is now a total of 25,201 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Dublin has the highest number of cases at 12,139 (48% of all cases) followed by Cork with 1,529 cases (6%) and then Kildare with 1,428 cases (6%).

These figures were released the day before Ireland accelerates its lockdown lift.

This means that there will be no more Phase 5, and from Monday, the country will begin to reopen even more than it has already done, with Phase 2 beginning.
