Only one European country has a higher ‘capital city satisfaction’ than Ireland

Carl Kinsella

God, the Dubs are smug.

A new Eurobarometer poll aimed at gauging how happy people are to live in capital cities across Europe has revealed that almost everybody who lives in Dublin is happy to live there.

According to the study, conducted by TNS & Social Network throughout the capital cities of the EU, an astonishing 95% of jackeen respondents are satisfied with their quality of life in Dublin. Dublin is tied for second with Sweden’s capital Stockholm, and Vienna in Austria.

In the broader context of the EU, only one city fared better and that was Helsinki, where 96% of people claim that they’re satisfied with the Finnish capital.

However, this satisfaction does not seem to come from feeling safe, given that more than a quarter of all those residing in Dublin report that they do not feel safe there, according to Newstalk.
