Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison for killing Reeva Steenkamp last October.
Former Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius could be out of prison on parole as early as this August, according to reports in South Africa.
Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison for culpable homicide following the death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at their home in Pretoria in February 2013.
He also received a three-year suspended sentence for a separate reckless endangerment conviction and is currently incarcerated at the maximum security Kgosi Mapuru II prison in Pretoria.
Prosecutors arguing that Pistorius should have been tried for murder will have an appeal heard in November.
In the meantime, a family member has revealed that Pistorius will be released on parole in August, having served just ten months of his five-year sentence.
