The announcement that Ronan O’Gara would retire had been expected, but it makes it no less difficult to deal with for the many Munster fans and Ireland fans who have seen him control game after game for both club and country.
One man who would know plenty about playing with ROG is Peter Stringer, who shared this brilliant picture of the two lads at a young age, when they first began playing together.
Stringer tweeted simply “We shared some incredible days over the last 25 years” and included a few hashtags “bon chance”, “end of an era” and “where it all began”, adding that he will be a huge loss to rugby in this country both on and off the field.
