Plenty of veg in Mulranny.
Jerry Cowley was out recently for a nice walk when he stumbled across what may be the biggest mushroom in the state’s history.
The established GP and former TD discovered the huge fungus when he was strolling around Clew Bay.
“Initially, I thought it was a rock, but when I had a look at it I realised that it was a mushroom of some kind. Nobody around here has seen anything as big as it before as far as I can make out,” said Cowley.
The massive mushroom measured in at 20cm by 23cm in diameter and weighs some 189 grams.
