Awww.
The art of conversation is said to be dying out in pubs these days, but it’s even worse on public transport, where commuters barely take their eyes off their phones, tablets etc. for the duration of their journey.
People actually talking to strangers they encounter on a bus or a train is a rare occurence, but it happened on the Dublin to Cork train today and a passenger on that train was pleasantly surprised when she eavesdropped on a conversation nearby.
Irish Rail retweeted the message below a little earlier about a young man who happily made conversation with an old couple before departing at Thurles; if his parents could see it, they’d be very proud indeed.
