Brian O’Driscoll has been officially given the Freedom of the City of Dublin at the Mansion House.
The Leinster centre made his final appearance for Ireland during last weekend’s Six Nations win over France, a victory that sealed the championship for Joe Schmidt’s men.
O’Driscoll joins the likes of U2, Jack Charlton, Gay Byrne and Nelson Mandela in receiving the honour alongside Fr. McVerry, known for his work with troubled youths in the capital.
The pair received the award from Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn ahead of an official ceremony this evening.
