Sinn Féin’s official Twitter account usually consists of quite dry press releases and news stories but occasionally, it provides sights that can never be unseen. Case in point: Gerry Adams having a swing.
After a series of weekend tweets from various Sinn Fein representatives on Saturday calling for a lift on the Garda recruitment embargo and the social consequences of public sector redudancies, someone behind the @sinnfeinnireland account evidently decided that things needed to be lightened up.
To that end, followers of the account were shocked but amused by a tweet – apropos of nothing and without any tagline to accompany it – that was posted showing Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams having the time of his life on a swing. See below if you don’t believe us:
As Sinn Féin Republican Youth PRO Mark Moloney revealed via his Twitter account, Gerry is clearly “partial to the aul seesaws too”.
Gerry’s ‘Swing Féin’ approach to relaxation after a hard week’s work should be commended, but how could he resist the temptation of the shiny silver and red slide in the first shot?
As of this writing, Sinn Féin have not tweeted since the swing snap was posted but we eagerly await an apology for the lack of a sliding Gerry…
