We brought you the story yesterday that Waterford City and County Council will outlaw smoking, cursing and picking flowers in public parks.
They’ve also banned begging, gambling, behaving indecently, any kind of BBQ, bonfires, fireworks, and anyone with a firearm, airgun or catapult.
What’s left?
The rules will be enforced from August 1 and they will be implemented by the Park attendees and the Gardai.
To coincide with that, a brand new festival has been announced.
The first annual Waterford BBQ, smoking, skating, flowerpicking, model aeroplane flying and cursing festival takes place in The People’s Park on August 1.
The organisers have outlined what you need to bring: “Yourself, including all your barbeque, smoking, skating, flowerpicking, model aeroplane flying and cursing paraphernalia.”
The also say, “Remember to clean up after yourself and most important of all, have a good time in our beautiful public park.”
