Chances are you’ve seen a list like this from your own mammy at some stage.

An Irish mammy will rarely leave their son or daughter in charge of the house for a weekend or a few days without a very stern set of instructions, but one would imagine that the need to deliver those instructions disappears once their sons or daughters have reached their 20s.

JOE reader Shane Reynolds from Elphin in Roscommon has obviously yet to fully earn the trust of his mother, however, as despite the fact that he’s 27-years old, he received a sheet of paper with the following list of dos and don’ts when his parents left him alone for three weeks.
