I before E except after C… That’s what the lads who painted this ‘Yield’ sign must have been thinking before putting pen to paper – or paint to road in this case.
They probably thought that the lack of a C meant E went ahead of I, or else they just didn’t brush up on their spelling before getting on with the job.
The pic was tweeted out by Today FM producer Will Hanafin this morning, and it’s sure to have council workers using spell check on their phones in the future.
