No butts, what are they plugging here?
We’re not far off the annual complaints about Christmas trees going up in every town, village and city in Ireland. Some will be too small, some will be too tall, others will be too early, some too late, and the majority of them will have lots of stuff nicked off them within days of being erected.
But town councils all over the country can be glad they didn’t give artist Paul McCarthy the gig to design their festive feature.
The lads over in Paris did and they might be regretting it right now.
McCarthy, who has a history of creating controversial works of art, including a piece called ‘Complex Pile’ in 2011 that looks like, well, you can work it out for yourself below.
Anyway, when his latest work, called simply ‘Tree’ was unveiled in the Place Vendome this week, it was imediately pointed out that it resembled, well, a butt plug.
