This map shows the 18 countries in the world where gay marriage is legal.
The image, from i100.independent.co.uk, is based on data from the Pew Centre and shows the countries that have passed Marriage Equality legislation since the Netherlands in the year 2000.
Although gay marriage is legal in parts of the United States and Mexico, neither country is included on the map.
We’ll find out tomorrow if Ireland will join the following countries in recognising marriage for everyone regardless f gender.
