Hopefully everyone will make a speedy recovery.

Emergency services have responded to a major incident on the River Foyle after 26 people became stranded in the water.

It is believed two boats participating in a fundraising event got into trouble on a stretch of river near Carrigans in Donegal.

Five people were taken to Derry’s Altnagelvin hospital by an Irish Coastguard helicopter for treatment and the remainder were taken to shore by Foyle Search and Rescue and the police, where they received treatment from the ambulance service staff at Prehen Boat House before twelve of them were also transferred to the hospital.

According to the latest tweets from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and BBC reporters Anna Quigley and Joe Doran, 26 people were rescued in total.
