PICS: There was a massive queue in arrivals at Dublin Airport last night

Alan Loughnane

Sure, doesn’t everyone want to visit Ireland…

You’d be forgiven for thinking it was a Bank Holiday weekend in Dublin Airport on Friday night with the size of the queues into passport control.

Alas, it was vital to have patience coming into the Airport, as the queues of people into the airport meant that things didn’t go quite as smoothly for people arriving as they may have wished.

The dream is to land and be through all the checks in mere minutes, but it doesn’t always work like that.

Through no one’s fault, there was a slight backlog of people and the queues delayed people for over 45 minutes as they waited to go through.

It’s a scene witnessed the world over, and we’re in no way blaming airport staff, we’re just saying we’re glad we weren’t stuck in that queue.

An international passenger survey by users of travel website eDreams recently ranked Dublin Airport as the tenth best airport in the world.

The survey, based on more than 65,000 passenger reviews, covers overall airport quality, waiting areas, shopping, and restaurants, with Dublin ranking high on a list that saw Helsinki-Vantaa named as the best airport in the world.
