Not even in college have we seen as house in as bad a state as this.
When a landlord rents a property to a tenant, they trust them to look after the property and, to a reasonable degree, keep it in the condition it was in when they moved in.
One landlord in Cork by the name of Val was horrified to find that a house he had rented to a couple and three children was left in a desperate, decrepid state and so dirty that the pictures below will probably leave you feeling a little queasy.
Val contacted Neil Prendeville of Red FM to heighten awareness of his plight and revealed that he discovered a black bag full of maggots and faeces, saying that when the three toilets in the house were blocked, the occupants used black bags as toilets instead.
Val told Neil that when he originally rented the house, it was in pristine condition and that he had to carry out €6,000 worth of repairs, including replacing every appliance in the house.
He also warned his fellow Cork landlords to be aware of the fact that the people responsible for leaving the house in such a state are currently looking for accomodation on the north side of the city.
Red FM, meanwhile, responded to the concerns of listeners by passing on all information to the relevant authorities and were assured that it would be followed up.
