Carl Kinsella

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has issued a warning about “the dangers of taking unknown substances” after a man in his 30s died on Sunday.

The statement also reveals that a 26-year-old man is in hospital another incident, and his condition has been described as “serious.” He is currently being treated.

The PSNI has said that a post-mortem examination has not yet been conducted, but that “a possible link to drug or substance abuse is a strong line of enquiry”.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Foster said: “We also believe that a number of other people may have sought medical attention last night after becoming unwell following the consumption of drugs.”

Foster also instructed anyone who is feeling unwell after taking drugs to “seek medical attention immediately,” clarifying that the PSNI “also believe that a number of other people may have sought medical attention last night after becoming unwell following the consumption of drugs.”

The PSNI have also appealed from information from anyone who was at the Moneymore location last night, or anyone who has any information about the incident.
