Remember these?

So much has happened in Irish society during 2016 that it’s easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months.

Here are some of the biggest stories on JOE during April.

10) Dubliner gets caught rapid after jumping out of a taxi before paying the fare.

This must have been one awkward conversation.

9) The Irish county that watches the most porn.

Wexford came out on top with Offaly and Mayo completing the top 3.

All of these three counties watched more porn than the rest of Ireland. Our national average clocked in at nine minutes and 15 seconds.

Great day for the parish.

8) Shane Lowry’s remarkable hole-in-one which earned a few people some free pints.

The Clara man did this at The Masters.

Meaning that  Giltraps Pub in Lowry’s home county of Offaly had to do this for their patrons.

7) Offaly GAA star prevents woman from getting clamped in Dublin and gets a date for his efforts

Offaly GAA star Paraic Sullivan intervened after noticing an unoccupied car in front of him was about to get clamped. The note reads:

Hi there,

I was parked behind you and you were just about to get clamped. I stopped them and bought you a ticket so they wouldn’t clamp you. Maybe some day you might do the same. Or you can buy me a pint. 

My name is Paraic.

This act of generosity saw him get a date in return. Further proof that no good deed goes unrewarded.

6) RTE’s simple but moving tribute to Prince

The world lost one of the most popular and influential musicians of all time as Prince passed away at the age of 57. You can take a look at some of the remarkable tributes that were paid to the iconic artist here, but this one from Joanna Donnelly definitely resonated.

5) Irish pilot flies with his 5-year-old brother for the first time

Pilot Mikey McMahon brings his five-year-old brother Robbie flying for the first time. You’ll be an emotional wreck after seeing this.
