Paul Moore

Remember these?

So much has happened in Irish society during 2016 that it’s easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months.

Here are some of the biggest stories on JOE during July.

10) Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Ferguson share a touching moment after Portugal win Euro 2016

Ronaldo’s final may have been cruelly cut short, but he left the Stade de France with the Henri Delaunay trophy.

This a lovely moment between the Real Madrid man and his ‘football’ father.

4) Galway footballer performs spine-tingling version of Luke Kelly song

Monivea Abbey GAA club took on the Aran Islands in the Galway Division 3 Football League at the weekend with Monivea running out 5-10 to 1-16 winners.

On the boat ride home from Inis Mór, Monivea decided to break up the monotony of the journey with a little sing-song and Paul Flaherty took up the mantle.

3) This parking job in Dublin was so bad, the Gardai had to be called

The driver of this 152 Opel Insignia in Liffey Valley must have been pretty pissed off about this one.

2) Brian O’Driscoll’s lovely reception at Wimbledon

They know that they’re in the presence of BOD GOD.

1. Once a beloved Irish holiday camp, Mosney is now in a sorry, sorry state

In the year 2000, Mosney was turned into a home for asylum seekers, but footage recorded earlier this year shows the extent of the disrepair that’s now evident in what was once one of Ireland’s favourite holiday destinations.

Sad.
