Absolutely shocking behaviour.

A reward worth in excess of €5,000 is on offer to help find the killers of a family dog who had its throat slit in Cork.

As of yesterday morning, according to Red FM, the reward stood at over €5,000 and included a €200 donation from Lord Mayor of Cork, Chris O’Reilly.

O’Reilly and the dog’s owner, Sylvia McCarthy spoke to the Red FM’s Neil Prendeville yesterday about the senseless killing of Marvin, a five-year old Jack Terrier who had his throat slit and was subsequently dumped in Cork on Saturday night.

Speaking about the treatment of the dog, O’Reilly said: “This was a horrific act carried out on a family pet, I’m disgusted by the treatment of this dog.

“I don’t believe whoever did this should get away with it, I believe the full rigours of the law needs to be applied here, I don’t care what age this individual or individuals are.”
