The strikes will start in September.
Secondary school teachers in Ireland will hold a series of strikes from September over proposed changes to the Junior Cert cycle.
The leaders of the Association of Secondary Teachers met on Tuesday having been given a mandate by members for strike action last September.
It means that a number of one-day strikes will take place between September and December 2016.
The ASTI insist that the new proposals will increase workload and bureaucracy at the expense of teaching time.
They have also expressed concerns that there is no external assessment for oral exams in Irish and modern languages.
However, the Teachers Union of Ireland has accepted the Junior Cycle proposals.
