Three men arrested following shooting in Dublin on Tuesday night

Three men have been arrested following a shooting incident that took place in Dublin on Tuesday night, 17 December.

At approximately 8.45pm on Tuesday, a man was approached by a lone gunman at Shancastle Park in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 and shot a number of times.

It is understood that the gunman fled from the scene on foot.

A man in his 20s was treated at the scene before being taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he remains with injuries that have been described as serious but non-life-threatening.

As of Wednesday morning, a man aged in his late teens is currently being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station, while two men aged in their 20s are being detained in Lucan Garda Station in connection with the incident.

All are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area at the time.
