Ulster Bank is currently investigating the issue.
An Ulster Bank investigation is currently underway after a significant number of the bank’s customers reported that wages had not been paid into their accounts on Friday morning.
The Ulster Bank Help Twitter account was busy fielding inquiries from Ulster Bank customers on Friday morning, most of whom reported that their wages had not been processed. Problems with lodgements, state pensions and other payments were also reported by customers.
A spokesperson for Ulster Bank told JOE that while the majority of payments have gone through successfully, there is a delay with some payment files and the bank is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Emergency cash is also available to Ulster Bank customers if required.
“Some payment files have been delayed in the system this morning and we are working to have these applied as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
“We apologise for this inconvenience and emergency cash is available to Ulster Bank customers if they contact us on 1850 424 365.”
